I purchased this contract because my last 50" DLP TV required a $500+ repair. The local big screen repair shop told me that he has never seen so many TVs in need of repair. He suggested to research Consumer Reports and to purchase the longest extended guarantee available. I feel confident that Samsung will be able to repair my new TV if the need arises but nb: this contract only covers an additional 2 years - the TV comes with 1 year guarantee already! You are actually paying for only 2 year's coverage - not 3! I was aware of this at the time of purchase, but I have more confidence dealing with the manufacturer.
